On July 1 at 7:12 p.m., officers responded to Target in La Plata for the report of a theft that just occurred.
According to store employees, the suspects stole clothes and fled the store in a car. A lookout was broadcast and officers located the vehicle – which was unoccupied- at the La Plata Wal-Mart. Officers waited for the occupants to return to the car at which point both suspects were found to be in possession of stolen clothes from Wal-Mart and Target.
Officers recovered the stolen clothing and arrested the suspects.
Krystal Marie Jones, 24, and Gabriel Allena Belton, 23, both of S.E. Washington, D.C., were charged with theft.
