On October 23 at 9: 30 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Hope Circle in Waldorf for the report of an assault in progress in which a weapon was involved.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim who reported the suspect, Romeo Hazel, 41 of Washington, D.C., threatened her with a knife. A witness heard the suspect make the threats and called police. Officers located the suspect nearby and arrested him.
Hazel was charged with first-degree assault.
