Update 9/18/2017- Prosecutors in Prince William County have deemed the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old-teen on Friday justifiable.
Paul Ebert, the Commonwealth Attorney for Prince William County stated that prior to the shooting, the boy called 911 and said he had a hostage and bomb. The prior night the teen attempted suicide and was beating a girl with a crowbar.
When authorities responded to the Hartzell Hill Lane address, the teen approached officers with the crowbar in a threatening manner and did not comply with officers orders to drop it.
The teen was shot one time in the chest and died at the scene.
Haymarket, VA- Around 10:45 a.m., a Prince William County, VA. Police Officer shot and killed a juvenile on the 6800 block of Hartzell Lane; which is street within a suburban subdivision.
No details were given on the juvenile’s name or age. The investigation is ongoing.
