On 6/29/2017 at approximately 2040 hours, Troopers from the MSP Forestville Barrack responded to the area on N/B MD RT 5 n/o Brandywine Road, Accokeek, MD. For a single vehicle collision with a motorcycle. Upon their arrival on scene, the operator of the vehicle was transported to Southern Maryland Hospital. There was no current registration plate listed to the motorcycle. The vehicle was identified as a 2004 Honda CBR1000. Troopers responded to Southern Maryland Hospital to identify the operator. Upon their arrival to the hospital, the driver was identified by his Maryland driver’s license as Gerald Reshad Stockton (B/M/ 30 years old) of Capitol Heights, MD. Mr. Stockton was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. Preliminary investigation revealed that the black/silver Honda CBR 1000 (Vehicle 1) was traveling northbound on MD Route 5 north of Brandywine Road in lane 1. The operator of the vehicle lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the grassy center median. The operator of Vehicle 1 was ejected from the vehicle. The roadway in the area of the collision was shut down for approximately 2 hours, while emergency crews and Collision Investigators surveyed the scene. The Maryland State Police was assisted by Prince George’s County Fire and EMS and the Maryland State Highway Administration.
Brandywine, MD – Prince George’s County authorities reported a motorcycle crash occurred Thursday evening, June 29 at Branch Avenue and Moore’s Road in Brandywine. The Prince George’s County Fire Department confirmed the crash occurred around 9 p.m. One injured motorist has sustained critical life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
