Huntingtown, MD – On Saturday, Sept. 6 at approximately 2:55 p.m., there was a single-vehicle accident on Route 2/4 South and Oxford Way in Huntingtown.

The vehicle that lost control went from the left fast lane and crossed into the right slow lane and then struck the guard rail twice, with the car going 180 degrees and making contact in the front and rear of the vehicle on that guard rail.ย  After that the vehicle then crossed both slow lane and fast lane again to strike the guard rail near the fast lane and stopping.

There was other traffic in the area at the time, but fortunately no other vehicles were struck.

The driver was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.

The traffic was stopped for about 10 to 15 minutes on the southbound lane until the fire department could complete their work and then the slow right lane was open to get track moving again. Within another 15 minutes the tow truck had arrived and all lanes were open.
