Hollywood, MD – On Monday, April 10 shortly before 6 p.m., St. Mary’s County authorities reported a motor vehicle crash on Sandy Bottom Road between St. Johns Road and Lawrence Hayden Road. One motorist was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses indicated the driver may have swerved to avoid striking an animal. The vehicle went out of control before coming to rest in a wooded area. A portion of Sandy Bottom Road was closed for over one hour while police were on the scene.
