At 430 pm a call was dispatched to the 911 communications center for a 2 vehicle accident with injuries.
Upon arrival units found a t bone style collision involving a Honda civic and a dodge avenger. Preliminary indications show the Honda civic was attempting to cross route 5 when it crossed the path of the Dodge avenger and was struck on the drivers side.
One person was transported by ambulance to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. Roads were shut down and traffic was rerouted for about half an hour through the old line bank and food lion centers.
