The Calvert County Board of Education (โBoardโ) has initiated a nationwide search for a new Superintendent of Schools.ย To help facilitate the process, the Board has contracted with the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (โMABEโ).ย
Open forums for the staff and community will be held at locations throughout the county to provide the public an opportunity to identify qualities and characteristics they would like to see in the new superintendent.
The following are the times, dates and locations:
January 15:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
- Patuxent High School cafeteria โ 6 p.m. Staff; 7:30 p.m. Public
- Calvert High School cafeteria โ 6 p.m. Staff; 7:30 p.m. Public
January 16:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
- Northern High School cafeteria โ 6 p.m. Staff; 7:30 p.m. Public
Participants will be provided a presentation explaining the search process and will be asked to answer three questions:
- What do you feel are the most positive things about CCPS?
- What characteristics and qualifications would you like to see in a superintendent?
- What challenges do you think a new superintendent will face?
Input received will be compiled and presented to the Board to develop a brochure to solicit candidates.ย The brochure will be posted on the CCPS website as well as in local, state and national publications.
