On Nov. 19, St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy Keith Moritz observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner in the area of Millison Plaza, Lexington Park.
The officer initiated a vehicle stop and made contact with the operator, Charles Stewart Lockhart, of Lothian. Upon making contact with the operator, Deputy Moritz detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, noticed slurred speech, and bloodshot eyes.
Lockhart was unable to complete the standardized field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. Lockhart issued a court date and released to a responsible adult pending his appearance in District Court.
