At 2:07 a.m. Sept. 25, Charles County Sheriffโs officers responded to the report of suspects attempting to steal a vehicle parked on Idlewood Park Road in Waldorf.
As officers were responding, the citizen reported the suspects were unsuccessful in stealing the vehicle and had fled in another vehicle.
A lookout was broadcast for a silver vehicle and Officer R. Brooks located it exiting Idlewood Park Road onto Mattawoman Beantown Road.
Officer Brooks attempted to stop it but the driver refused and fled into Prince Georgeโs County, where the vehicle ultimately left the roadway and drove into the woods.
The two suspects in the vehicle fled on foot. Prince Georgeโs County police officers and the U.S. Park Police, using its helicopter, assisted the Sheriffโs Office in searching the area but the suspects were not located.
The suspects are described as black males in their early 20s. One suspect was wearing black shorts and a red T-shirt. The other suspect was wearing gray shorts and a gray shirt. The silver vehicle had been previously reported stolen in Prince Georgeโs County.
