The Patuxent River Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) held their second annual Leprechaun Leap Saturday, March 14th, at the West Basin Marina aboard the Naval Air Station.

Despite the chilly, rainy weather and 38 degree water temperature 42 people came out to jump into the Patuxent River. Among those was base commanding officer Captain Heidi Fleming.

The event kicked off at 9 a.m. and everyone was heading home to warm up thirty minutes later.

MWR officials noted that twenty people participated in the first event last year.
