On May 20 at 4:31 a.m., Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Officer M. Tyner responded to Eutaw Forest Drive in Waldorf for the report of property destruction in progress.

Investigation revealed John David Mueller, Jr., 20, of Hollywood drove a Toyota RAV4 into 11 mailboxes on Eutaw Forest Drive and Venture Drive until the vehicle became disabled. He also struck a Ford Ranger that was parked and unoccupied. Mueller and Christopher Wayne Evans, 21, of Mechanicsville, who was with him in the vehicle, abandoned the vehicle and began walking toward Bensville Road .

The citizen who had initially reported the crime then notified Officer Tyner and Officer J. Alpert of the suspectsโ€™ location. The officers found them and determined Mueller was the driver and was intoxicated.

Mueller was charged with malicious destruction of property valued at more than $500, malicious destruction of property valued at less than $500, driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence and driving without a license. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Officer M. Tyner investigated.

Both Mueller and Evans had been issued alcohol citations earlier for drinking alcohol in the parking lot of My Brotherโ€™s Place, located at 3081 Old Washington Road in Waldorf. Officers had responded there at 8:10 p.m. after a citizen reported seeing people drinking in the parking lot. Mueller and Evans had discarded the alcohol and returned inside the establishment after receiving the citations for drinking in a public place. Officer J. Timko investigated that incident.

This activity report was provided by a Southern Maryland law enforcement agency as a public service to the community. It is not a complete account of events, and all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
