DRAYDEN, Md. – James Colson is a Navy Veteran who was recently stricken with Parkinsonโ€™s, he and his wife Cheryl have lived in their Drayden home for several years.

James was having trouble getting himself and his walker up the 5 steps to his home without falling, therefore he was very limited to how and when he could go outside to enjoy his beautiful yard or tinker in his garage.

Patuxent Habitat for Humanity with the help of PAX NAS CPOAS and selectees built him an awesome ramp that gives him the freedom and ease to go in and out of his home without the fear of falling down his steps. We still have some bathroom remodeling that needs to be done for Jim & Cheryl to make the inside as safe as the outside for them, which is scheduled to be done next month!ย

They now have a home where he will be able to age in place with the dignity he and all veterans deserve. Please call Laurie Walker at 301-863-6227×16 if you are or know someone that is a veteran in need of critical home repairs.

In addition if you would like to volunteer or are a business that wants to donate materials and/or volunteer with any of our Veteran Critical Repair projects (WE HAVE SEVERAL SCHEDULED) please contact Laurie. No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent life.
