On August 14, 2006, the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) received a reported sex abuse to a minor child.
Investigation conducted by detectives from BCI revealed that suspect Jesus Isaac Cortinas, 47 years old, of California, made sexual advances toward the minor child to include committing a sex offense.
On August 21, 2006 detectives located the suspect in another jurisdiction and had the local authorities make apprehension. The suspect was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was served with an arrest warrant for one (1) count of Sex Abuse to a minor, and two (2) counts of Second Degree Assault.
The suspect was seen by the District Court Commissioner and released on his own recognizance.
