At 8:00 pm on Jan. 13 an employee leaving the Mattress Corner in Lexington Park was confronted by a male suspect who placed a pellet gun in his back and demanded money.
The suspect was given an envelope without money inside and he fled to a nearby waiting vehicle and fled the area. Detectives from Saint Mary’s County BCI located 2 suspects a short distance away and through their investigation and search warrants charged them with the Mattress Corner robbery as well as the robbery at Papa John’s which occurred on Dec. 23.
Suspect(1) Steven Karl Scott (18, Lexington Park)
Suspect (2) Martese Devon Thomas (30, Great Mills)
Both suspects were charged with (2) counts of armed robbery and (2) counts Conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Both suspects were taken before the court commissioner and were held on $25.000 bond
