Homicide Unit detectives charged two men in connection with a fatal shooting in the city of Glenarden in September. They are 31-year-old DeAndre Stevenson of the 7600 block of Commerce Court in Riverdale, Georgia, and 25-year-old Ryan Smith of the 7600 block of Allendale Drive in Landover. They’re charged with the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Nelson Standifer of Upper Marlboro.

On September 18th, at approximately 12:15 pm, patrol officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 8200 block of Martin Luther King Jr Highway. The officers discovered Standifer outside in the parking lot of a convenience store suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the fatal shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the suspects and the victim. Stevenson and Smith are acquaintances of the victim.

Stevenson and Smith are charged with first degree murder and related charges. Smith is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status. Stevenson was taken into custody in Georgia and is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
