College Park, MD – October 11, 2019 – The Regional Investigation Division โ Northern Region arrested two men less than one hour after the men committed an armed robbery in College Park on Wednesday night. They are identified as 20-year-old Ibrahim De La Cruz of E. Capitol Street in Northeast Washington, D.C., and 23-year-old Brian Cueto Yenty of Farragut Street in Hyattsville.
On October 9th, 2019, at approximately 10:15 pm, PGPD officers and investigators responded to the area of Knox Road and Rhode Island Avenue for a reported armed robbery. When they arrived on the scene, the officers met with the victim, an adult male, who advised he was approached by a suspect who demanded his property and threatened to shoot him if he didnโt comply. The suspect stole several items and fled the scene on foot. The victim did not report any injuries.
Officers immediately began a canvass of the area. At approximately 11:15 pm, officers conducted an investigative stop on a car nearby that matched the description of the car linked to a second, attempted robbery in area earlier in the evening.
