College Park, MD – October 11, 2019 – The Regional Investigation Division โ€“ Northern Region arrested two men less than one hour after the men committed an armed robbery in College Park on Wednesday night. They are identified as 20-year-old Ibrahim De La Cruz of E. Capitol Street in Northeast Washington, D.C., and 23-year-old Brian Cueto Yenty of Farragut Street in Hyattsville.

On October 9th, 2019, at approximately 10:15 pm, PGPD officers and investigators responded to the area of Knox Road and Rhode Island Avenue for a reported armed robbery. When they arrived on the scene, the officers met with the victim, an adult male, who advised he was approached by a suspect who demanded his property and threatened to shoot him if he didnโ€™t comply. The suspect stole several items and fled the scene on foot. The victim did not report any injuries.

Officers immediately began a canvass of the area. At approximately 11:15 pm, officers conducted an investigative stop on a car nearby that matched the description of the car linked to a second, attempted robbery in area earlier in the evening. One of the two men in that stopped car was linked to the robbery that occurred at 10:15 pm through investigative techniques.
