In an effort to improve police service, combat crime and address quality of life issues, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has teamed with the Golden Beach Community in Mechanicsville on a pilot program. The program involves the assignment of a Community Service Officer to a defined region and/or community service area.
For the purposes of this pilot program, the Community Service area has been defined to include the business district at Maryland Route 5 and Golden Beach Road to and including the Golden Beach Community. The Community Service Officer will work with the citizens and business owners within the identified region to address crime and other community issues.
