A man was arrested outside the Lexington Park Days Inn Friday afternoon, after St. Maryโ€™s County Police agencies conducted a massive search of the area for a suspected armed man.

Police were unsure if any shots were fired by the man, reportedly identified as Troy Freeman. Officers were in contact with his sister, who said she heard him clicking something and then possibly a gun shot.

Police from St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office and Maryland State Police Leonardtown barracks locked down the Lexington Park Public Library, a nearby school and the Bay District fire station construction site, preventing anyone from coming or going.

Officers were also stationed on the woods line that surrounds the library, and officers checked Buffalo Wings and Beer, Cadillac Jacks, St. Mary’s Square and several residences.

Police were waiting for a K-9 unit to arrive to search the woods in the area when the man was apprehended outside the hotel.
