Calvert County officials have identified the body of a white woman discovered by two children playing in the woods on Jan. 28 in Prince Frederick along Main Street.
The Maryland State Police Latent Print Unit Latent managed to recover fingerprints from the remains, and the woman was identification as Christina M Rosenfield, 48.
Rosenfield was reported missing after she was last seen in Price Frederick at about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2.
Calvert County Sheriff’s Sgt. R. King told The Bay Net that Rosenfield apparently walked out of a treatment facility on Dec. 2, and she was labeled a “critically missing person” due to her mental status. The officer could not offer any further details due to the federal privacy laws regarding an individual’s medical information.
Police revealed today that Rosenfield walked away from The Network home on Broomes Island Rd in Port Republic . The Southern Maryland Community Network, is a facility that provides services to adults and children with psychiatric disabilities.
The family will be making funeral arrangements. At this time the cause of death is still unknown, police say.
