A dark-colored Ford Expedition with six passengers and a blue Mazda Protรฉgรฉ, carrying two, were stopped at a traffic light when a white Chrysler Sebring apparently struck the Protรฉgรฉ from behind.
The passengerโs airbag deployed in the Sebring. The driverโs airbag appeared to have torn at impact, failing to properly inflate.
Two people in the Sebring and one from the Protรฉgรฉ were taken from the scene by ambulance. Two people were taken to St. Maryโs Hospital. The other was flown to Prince Georgeโs Trauma Center. It is unclear which injured person was air-evacuated.
The state plans to conduct further investigation.
