On July 23 at 12:14 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers attempted to stop a motorcycle speeding on Route 210 in Indian Head but the driver initially refused to stop.
Officers pursued the motorcycle to Thompson Lane, where the driver stopped and then resisted the officers’ attempts to place him under arrest. During the struggle, an officer deployed a Taser in a successful attempt to subdue the man, who was ultimately arrested and identified as Kevin Andree Countiss, 45 of Indian Head.
Countiss was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was charged accordingly. He was also charged with fleeing and eluding police officers. Officers R. Brooks and C. Walden investigated.
