Lexington Park, MD – Randy Guy is the incumbent for St. Maryโ€™s County commissioners’ president and is seeking his second term. Guy was born in Leonardtown and grew up working at his familyโ€™s business in Ridge. He served 26 years in the Air Force and had a stint with the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Department during a break in service. Guy went on to open a small business, Southern Maryland Pools and Spa, and has become active in local politics since retirement.

In the second part of TheBayNet.comโ€™s interview with Commissioner Guy, he outlines his thoughts on the St. Maryโ€™s roadways โ€” including FDR Boulevard, the new library and helping small business owners in St. Maryโ€™s County.

Some of Guyโ€™s accomplishments while on the board include a lowering of property taxes, securing the building of a new library/senior center, acquiring Snowhill Farms for public access to recreation and waterfront, school safety funding, and adherence to the economic development plan, working to diversify the countyโ€™s economy.ย
