Former Charles County Public School music educator and past president of The Charles County Arts Alliance (CCAA), Robert Rausch visited the St. Charles Childrenโs Learning Center at the College of Southern Maryland as a โCelebrity Readerโ on March 27. Rausch read two books, โMagic Boxโ by Katie Cleminson and โSong and Dance Manโ by Karen Ackerman with illustrations by Stephen Gammell.ย
Rausch, of Waldorf, was the band teacher at Milton Somers Middle School for 17 years and he was the founder and first president of the CCAA in 1987. Since his retirement in 2007, he has performed in several productions at Port Tobacco Players, the Newtowne Players, Tantallon Community Players and an independent film as well as with the CSM Theatre Company. He is currently performing in CSMโs Cause Theatre, โThe Laramie Project,โ which continues March 29-31 on the La Plata Campus.ย
