My youngest brother Mark Tippett of Cedar Cove has now been missing for nearly two months. Having someone you love “missing” is a very painful experience that I never expected to find myself in.
I would like to thank all the people in this community who have helped in the search for Mark including the Baynet, the volunteer search and rescue, Spyglass Apartments (Mark’s employer), and especially the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department. As a City Attorney and former County Attorney I know that resources are thin at the local level; yet the St. Mary County Sheriff’s Department utilized bloodhounds, search and rescue teams and helicopters in an attempt to find Mark.
While he has still not been found, I believe the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Department should be commended for their expert and professional efforts to find him.
Mark will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him; including his brothers Rick, Frank and Chris, his sister Kate and especially his loving Aunt Gloria who has always been there for him.
