Authorities in St. Mary’s County are investigating an apartment fire in Lexington Park.
Fire alarms first sounded around 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the 21200 block of Joe Baker Court in the Joe Baker Village Apartments.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to discover a kitchen fire in one of the apartments on the first floor as a result of unattended food on the stove. One person suffered smoke inhalation and was treated on the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
