The National Weather Service has predicted temperatures from today through the weekend to be 100 degrees or higher.ย  Due to extremely high temperatures, the Charles County Department of Emergency Services is urging all citizens to cancel or reschedule any planned outdoor activities, especially those involving children or the elderly. There is an increased risk of heat exhaustion or other heat-related illness for those spending time outdoors for an extended period or those without air-conditioning.


The Charles County Commissioners would like to announce that the public buildings listed below will be open during regular business hours for use by residents as cooling centers during the extreme heat:ย 


1)ย  Capital Clubhouse (Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.)
