The Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office is asking for the publicโ€™s help in identifying a man who cashed a stolen check using fake identification, and Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a reward for information leading to his arrest or indictment.

The suspect cashed the stolen check on June 9 about 6 p.m. at Korner Liquors, located at 3120 Old Washington Road in Waldorf. The check was stolen in Prince Georgeโ€™s County and the supsect used fake identification bearing the manโ€™s name to cash the check.

It is unknown when the check was stolen. The victim had been expecting the check, which was issued by Countrywide Financial, and when he did not receive it, he filed an affidavit with Countrywide. The bank subsequently canceled the check and charged Korner Liquors in September for the amount cashed. Korner Liquors then notified the Sheriffโ€™s Office.

A photograph of the supsect was obtained from a camera at Korner Liquors and the Sheriffโ€™s Office is asking for help in identifying the supsect.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Det. B. Buchanan at 301-609-6477 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment.
