Edwin M. Burkhart and Chris Moore have become the two newest members of the Rotary Club of Prince Frederick. They were officially inducted on November 30, 2009. Burkhart is Vice President of Operations and Co-Owner of Tek-NiqueInk Office Supplies & Solutions, of Prince Frederick. Moore is an Independent Associate with Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc.

Burkhartโ€™s company, a service-disabled veteran-owned company, specializes in green products and actively supports the Fisher House Foundation, a supporter of military troops and families. Previously he served as one of twelve Flying Crew Chiefs for the Presidential Airlift Group that supported Air Force One. He has been awarded numerous medals, honors, and accommodations for his outstanding service to the military and the community.ย 

Burkhart is married to Teresa S. Burkhart, who is currently in real estate and they have two adult children, daughter Ashley Keith and son Aaron Barham.

Mooreโ€™s firm offers access to attorneys at affordable rates as well as a comprehensive identity theft protection service. Moore previously owned a small business in Charles County. He coaches little league and serves on the board of the Calvert American Little League.

Moore is married to Marybeth Moore, a second grade teacher at Huntingtown Elementary. They have three children Sarah (13), Chris Jr. (12) and Patrick (8).

Rotary President Jean Gelatka expressed her delight with the addition of these two new members. โ€œNew members are like a breath of fresh air,โ€ she said. โ€œIt is important to have a new generation of Rotarians to advance forward.โ€ There have now been six new members since last summer.

The Rotary Club of Prince Frederick is the local affiliate of Rotary International, the oldest international service club. Rotary club members are business and professional leaders who volunteer in their communities and promote world understanding and peace.

Rotaryโ€™s 31,000 clubs in more than 165 countries and regions encourage high ethical standards and carry out humanitarian projects to address such issues as poverty, health, hunger, education, and the environment.
