Police are looking for a suspect who robbed Moreland’s Country Store in Waldorf and struck one employee in the head with a gun Tuesday afternoon.
Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the store, located on Woodville Road, at 1:32 p.m. for the armed robbery report. They found that the suspect entered the store wearing a mask and brandished a handgun. He struck a 47-year-old Waldorf female employee in the head with the gun, stole cash and fled on foot toward Young Road, where he entered an older-model green vehicle believed to be a Pontiac.
The victim’s injuries were minor and she was treated on the scene. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and the Crime Lab responded to the scene to investigate.
