Scientists, engineers, mathematicians and artisans are needed to support the Great Mills High School ninth grade STEM Academy as mentors for science fair projects. Students have a wide range of topic areas for their projects – from testing the effects of energy drinks on worms, to materials engineering tests. The 49th Annual Science and Engineering Fair will take place on Jan. 31 at Great Mills High School and mentors for the STEM Academies are needed now.

An orientation for science fair mentors is scheduled for October 1. To sign up, contact instructor Rhonda McCarthy at rlmccarthy@smcps.org. Mentors must complete a St. Maryโ€™s County Public Schools volunteer form.
