UPDATE Oct. 14

On September 30, 2010, at 10 p.m., McKayโ€™s Food and Drug, located on Hollywood Road, Hollywood,ย was robbed at gunpoint.ย 

On October 14, 2010 detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations arrested Andre Marquise Cyrus, 17 of Hollywood and charged him as an adult with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, first degree assault and theft over $1000.ย  Additional charges are pending against other suspect(s).


UPDATE Oct. 13

On September 30, 2010, at 10ย p.m., McKayโ€™s Food and Drug, located on Hollywood Road in Hollywood was robbed at gunpoint.ย  On October 12, 2010 detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations executed two search and seizure warrants at two locations in Hollywood, Md and recovered various items related to the robbery.ย  Subsequent to the execution of the warrants Marcus D. Courtney, 18 of Lusby, was arrested and charged with armed robbery and theft over $1000.ย 

Charges are pending against additional suspects following a review by the States Attorneyโ€™s Office.ย ย

UPDATE Oct. 4 OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

The St. Maryโ€™s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack.ย  The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.

On September 30, 2010 at 10:00 P.M. two African American males, dressed in all black clothing and ski type masks, armed with an unknown make and model handgun, entered the McKayโ€™s Food and Drug on Hollywood Road, Hollywood, Maryland and robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects fled in a dark colored, possibly dark green or black, sport utility style vehicle.

Armed Robbery, Shots Fired at McKay’s Grocery Store
Authorities in St. Mary’s County are responding to report of an armed robbery with shots fired at the McKay’s grocery store in Hollywood on Hollywood Leonardtown Road.

The call came in around 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30.

Five employees were inside the store at the time of the robbery andย are beingย evacutated from the store at this time.

It was reported that two subjects dressed in all black entered the store armed with guns and fired at least one shot.ย  The suspects fled in an unknownย direction of travel. No word yet on a lookout.
