At 7:27 p.m. Jan. 11, a vehicle traveling on Rt. 210 at Rt. 227 was stopped by TFC J. Edelen of the LaPlata barrack for the driver not wearing his seatbelt.
Upon contact with the driver, Demond Brooks Sherrill, 25 years, of Hyattsville, marijuana residue was observed on the driver side window ledge.
A probable cause search revealed suspected marijuana on Sherrill’s person and in the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was also located in the vehicle.
Sherrill was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review.
