This popular cosmetics store had a soft opening on Saturday, Sept. 2 but will have its grand debut this Friday, Sept. 8.
For those unfamiliar with this chain, Sephora originated in France, but now has over 360 locations across North America. Sephora can be a standalone store, but is often found inside of JCPenney. Not only do they carry makeup, but also skincare, hair products, and fragrances as well. Sephora hosts a wide range of brands, and the location in St. Mary’s County is the largest one in the area. It’s a beauty connoisseur’s dream.
Besides the varying brands of makeup and products, Sephora is also home to their own Beauty Studio. At this counter, the Sephora beauty advisors can help you learn the ways of the cosmetics world by offering free mini makeovers! They have a broad set of options that focus on a single area so that you can learn a detailed, step-by-step routine. The Beauty Studio offers tutorials on applying eyeliner, contour, blush, bronzer, lipstick, and more. They will also color-match you to determine your perfect shade of foundation. For those more invested in skincare, the Beauty Studio also extends a free 15 minute facial. The professional staff members undergo months of training, including attending seminars and reading textbooks, “bigger than the ones [they] used in college” per one beauty advisor at the California location.
