Saturday, September 10 โ€“ Kidโ€™s Pirate Pizza Cruise

Friday, September 16 โ€“ CALAN presented by Southern Maryland Celtic Society
Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m. CALAN brings together the remarkable talents of five young Welsh musicians who use a contemporary approach to the old traditions. See their unique instrumental blend of accordion, fiddle, guitar, Welsh pipes and harp, and the percussive sound of the Welsh clogs. 9 a.m. โ€“ 2 p.m. Go to a local beach and explore the fossils of Calvert Cliffs with a trained educator. Get a special tour of the fossil hall. For ages 8 and up. Pre-registration required, $20, includes museum admission. Space is limited. Call 410-326-2042 ext. 41.

2 p.m. in the Harms Gallery. Jeri Cuffley and Erin Baker will present on how to sculpt creatures with Sculpey, a polymer clay.

Saturday, September 17 โ€“ Sunset Supper Cruise
5:30 p.m. โ€“ 8 p.m. Come aboard the Wm. B. Tennison for a narrated 90-minute cruise with historian Coby Treadway. Participants will enjoy appetizers as he talks participants through time along the Patuxent River, highlighting events from the paleo-Indians to WWII. After the cruise, the evening continues inside with a short presentation and a light supper catered by No Thyme to Cook. Tickets are $50 per person; seating is limited. 7 p.m. โ€“ 9 p.m.ย  Bring your friends and enjoy an evening of sea chanteys, nautical theme songs, and hearty cheer. Beer and wine available for sale. Free event.

Friday, September 30 โ€“ Pirate Day!
10 a.m. โ€“ 4 p.m. Throw on your best pirate outfit and head for the museum to hear pirate stories, sing sea chanteys, make a pirate hat, get a pirate tattoo, learn to tie knots and walk the plank on our pirate ship. Get your face painted too; $2 donation. Museum admission applies.

Friday, September 30 โ€“ Bumper Jacksons
Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. Returning by popular demand for their 3rd museum performance, Bumper Jacksonsโ€™ hot and sweet early jazz and country repertoire paints Americaโ€™s story from New Orleansโ€™ brothels to Appalachian hollers. Honored as the regionโ€™s 2015 โ€œArtist of the Yearโ€ and โ€œBest Folk Bandโ€ from 2013-2015 at the Washington Area Music Awards, the group has positioned themselves squarely at the helm of the young roots music scene in DC.
