Fort Washington, MD – An early morning fire in the Southern Prince Georgeโs County town of Fort Washington resulted in the displacement of 30 apartment dwellers, local fire officials reported.
According to Mark Brady of the Prince Georgeโs County Fire Department, the blaze which was initially reported around 8 a.m., occurred at an apartment building on Corning Avenue.ย Brady reported occupants were rescued from a balcony while firefighters battled the flames. There was a report of someone being trapped on the third floor, however, no serious injuries were reported.
A Washington, DC television station, WTTG, reports a woman was seen by witnesses โpassing kids from the third floor to the balcony.”
A total of 11 apartments were affected by the fire, which remains under investigation.
