Lexington Park, MD— On December 6, 2015, at approximately 3:02 a.m.., St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office deputies responded to the area of Canopy Liquors in Lexington Park, in reference to a subject reporting they had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Kevin Jerome Chase, age 45, outside of Canopy Liquors displaying a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The subject was transported to Washington Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries. The St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office Criminal Investigations Division has assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

The subject was transported to Washington Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries. The St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office Criminal Investigations Division has assumed the investigation.


Lexington Park, MD – Police in St. Mary’s County are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning, Dec. 6 in Lexington Park. There are reports that one person was shot and has been flown to a regional trauma center.

The incident occurred at Canopy Liquors and adjacent apartments on Great Mills Road around 3 a.m.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jennifer Stone told The BayNet the investigation is ongoing and further details will be released later.
