On Monday, March 14, 2011, at approximately 10:00 am, the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue responded to an auto accident on Route 4 South just North of Bowie Shop Road.
There was a telephone pole broken apart and part of the pole landed about 100 feet or so from its original location. The guardrail was also damaged.
The cause of this accident is unknown for sure at this time, but from what was mentioned at the scene is that the female driver just went from main highway and striking the pole and rail as if she had blacked out.
The driver was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and there seems to be minor injuries at this time.
