Sister DeDe Byrnes (standing) and Sister Leiche, from the order of The Little Workers of the Sacred Heart in Washington DC, visited St. John’s School on Thursday, Jan. 29 to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. She answered numerous questions from students about work as a religious sister. Sister DeDe spoke with the students about her vocation to help those in need, especially refugees that come to the United States of America. Sister DeDe served in the United States Army as a surgeon and took her vows with The Little Workers of the Sacred Heart in 2004.
