Pomonkey, MD – Six people were rescued from the Potomac River Saturday evening, April 1, police reported. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. The Maryland Natural Resources Police reported the 16-foot vessel capsized in “choppy, 48-degree water.” None of the six boats were wearing life jackets. Rescue crews brought the six to shore to be evaluated. Authorities report at least one boater was being treated for hypothermia.
