Calvert Cavaliers 21, Patuxent Panthers 7
ย  Our game of the week pitted these two county rivals against each other. This game was finished Monday night, as the Cavaliers put up 3 scores on the Panthers before their offense could get footing on the fielding. Aided by 4 turnovers, and a recovered onside kick, Calvert kept the high powered Patuxent offense off the field. Read our full story on this game here.
Leonardtown Raiders 14, Great Mills Hornets 6
ย  Another county game, this one in St Maryโ€™s County, took place on Monday night as Leonardtown downed Great Mills. It was 0-0 at halftime when the decision to suspend the game at halftime on Friday. Leonardtown came out and played their game in Monday, and held the Great Mills offense to just one garbage time score.
Stone Cougars 21, McDonough Rams 0
ย  Stoneโ€™s defense came to play on Saturday, posting itsโ€™ second shutout of the season. Their offense struggled some, but eventually found their way, putting up a score in each of the last three quarters. Stone is looking to secure themselves a playoff spot in the 2A South region. With 1 loss on the season, they are currently the 4th, and last, seed in the region.ย  They trail the above mentioned Calvert, Patuxent, and Largo High School of Prince Georges County.
St. Charles Spartans 35, La Plata Warriors 14
ย  St. Charles set a school record in this game, as they put up the most points in a single game in their schoolโ€™s brief history. They scored often as their defense gave up a few big plays to the Warriors. The Spartans won their second game of the season, and in school history, with this victory.
North Point Eagles 14, Chopticon Braves 12
ย  In another game that was delayed to Monday night, Chopticon held the lead when play was suspended by a score of 12-0. However, when play resumed, they gave up 2 touchdowns to the Eagles passing game. The Braves had a shot to win it with a field goal at the end, but Malik Brown burst through the line, and came away with the blocked kick. With the Patuxent loss, North Point is the last unbeaten in SMAC. They currently hold the 2 seed in the 4A East.
Westlake Wolverines 18, Lackey Chargers 6
ย  As the only game to finish on Friday night, Westlake won itโ€™s homecoming game as they put up 12 quick points in the first quarter, and slowly started applying the pressure on the Chargers. They allowed Lackey to put one score on the board, but other than that, didnโ€™t let them move the ball. Westlake has a 5-1 record, and is on the outside looking in of the competitive 2A south region. They are the 5 seed, and play Stone this week in a pivotal game for each teams playoff hopes.
Northern Patriots 7, Huntingtown Hurricanes 6
ย  Northern held off Huntingtown, and won their first county game of the season. They held off the Hurricanes offense for most of the game, and only held the lead for the fourth quarter. They improve to 4-2, and currently hold the 2 seed in the 3A South region.

In all, 5 teams from SMAC are sitting in playoff positions if they were to start today. Patuxent, Calvert, and Stone in the 2A, Northern in the 3A, and North Point in the 4A.
