Incoming students at St. Maryโs College of Maryland will participate in service projects across the county today.

One hundred new students and 70 student leaders will role up their sleeves and join in Seahawk Service Saturday as part of the orientation experience.ย Service projects and locations include:
โขMaintenance of guest rooms and grounds at Greenwell State Park
โขTruck cleaning at the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department
โขRoadside cleanup at Mattapany Road
โขCleanup of the college waterfront on state Route 5
โขTrail maintenance at Sotterley Plantation
โขFarm gardening and outdoor maintenance at Summerseat
โขGardening and mulching at St. Ceciliaโs Catholic Church
โขCleanup at Trinity Church
โขFence construction and outdoor tasks at St. Johnโs Museum site in Historic St. Maryโs City.
Service activities are designed to involve incoming students in the community as an introduction to the SMCM culture of civic engagement and social responsibility.
