Cyber Camp
The first annual Cyber Camp gives students in rising grades 7 and 8 the opportunity to learn about the growing field of cyber security using fun hands-on and interactive activities.  Attendees will learn and apply basic concepts of programming, forensics, and cryptography, from a series of gaming, modeling, and simulation activities, which explore the interconnections of science, math, technology, and computers.  Cyber Camp will run July 18 – 21, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center.

Spanish/French Camp
Foreign language camp for students in rising grades 2 – 6 provides elementary students the opportunity to experience learning a foreign language through an immersion environment using fun activities such as songs, role playing, and interactive games.  Spanish/French Camp will run June 20 – 23, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Leonardtown High School.

Summer Space Camp
Space Camp for students entering grades 2 – 11 provides opportunities for students to participate in hands-on, minds-on activities in the areas of science, mathematics, technology, and engineering.  Students will explore topics such as Earth Science, Engineering, Rocketry, Space Citizenship, and Space Science through classroom activities.  Space Camp will run July 11 – 14, 2016, or July 18 – 21, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center.  Students in grades 7 – 11 may register for both weeks.

Summer Arts Academy
Summer Arts Academy for rising students in grades 4 – 9 give students the opportunity to explore multiple topics in the arts such as band, strings, theatre, dance, and art.  The Summer Arts Academy will run June 20 – 23, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Leonardtown High School.

Tech Kids Summer Camp
Tech Kids Summer Youth Enrichment Program for students ages 8 – 14 provides students the opportunity to explore various skills from engineering to culinary skills.  Students can register for the all-day course, Stop Motion Animation, or for 2 of the other half-day sessions.  Tech Kids Summer Camp will run July 11 – 14, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center.

All-Day Session:
Stop Motion Animation (ages 10 – 14): Bring your toy cars, dolls, Legos and other objects to life in stop motion videos.  Come to camp with creative, fun ideas and the toys/objects you want to bring to life.  Give your videos sound with voice acting and Garage Band.  Bring a thumb/USB drive or SD card with you each day so you can take the videos home.

Half-Day Sessions:
Roots, Shoots, Buckets and Boots (ages 8 – 12): Find out how seeds and plants grow.  Build a Bloom and Bug to see how pollination works and how veggies are created (and used for eating)!

Engineering for Kids (ages 8 – 12): Build, test, and challenge!  This class will be full of fun hands-on activities!  From tasty marshmallow blasters, gumdrop tower challenges, paper airplanes and launchers, and egg drop droppers! Join in and get psyched about engineering!

Arts and Crafts (ages 8 – 12): Design and create fun arts and crafts projects out of new and recycled materials such as water bottles and egg cartons. Show your creative side while drawing and painting too!

Get Your Game On! (ages 8 -12): Play challenging indoor and outdoor games while making new friends!  Many exciting and funny games to keep you moving and LAUGHING!

Bits, Bytes, and Game Design (ages 8 – 12): Like playing video games?  Interested in computers?  Learn how they work in this workshop designed to teach campers how to build a computer and design video games through coding.  This is a great opportunity to learn about computers while having a lot of FUN!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (ages 8 – 12): Ever wish you could make a miniature version of your favorite plane, train, car or truck?  Maybe you have your own rad design in mind!  In this camp students have the opportunity to learn model assembly and building of a model of their choice.  Campers will learn design, pin stripping, and painting skills.  Models will be available or students may bring their own!

Olympic Size Chef’s Needed! (ages 8 – 12): Looking for a team of great chefs to create Brazilian dishes and Olympic treats!  Learn to prepare something exciting and new each day.  Enjoy a sampling of the creations, then WOW your friends and family with your Gold Medal cooking skills when you recreate these dishes at home in celebration of the 2016 Olympics!
