Despite record breaking heat in Southern Maryland on Saturday, June 26, a crowd of over 3,200 laughed the night away to the comedy stylings of Bill Engvall. Known most for his stint with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy, Engvall is also the star of his self titled “Bill Engvall Show” and gives us a constant reminder of how stupid people can be with his “Here’s Your Sign” bits that he closed the show with.
Bill made jokes about his long time marriage, text messaging, modern technology and the interesting people he met at tech and renaissance festivals. He also poked fun at his own ADD during the show.

Opening the fun for the evening was local artist and frequent Baynet Radio visitor Sam Grow and was followed by The Vanlears, a pop-country band from Dalton Georgia. Gary Brightwell started the comedy leading into Engvall.
Baynet Radio’s General Manager, John Hunt fired up the crowd between sets with his furry sidekick Pinch, the Southern Maryland Bluecrabs mascot as they threw t-shirts into the crowd.
A great time was had by all and Director Doug Alves of the museum said “despite the heat, he was very pleased with the turnout.”
The next concert at Calvert Marine Museum will be September 3, when classic rockers Pat Benetar and REO Speedwagon hit the stage during Labor Day weekend.
