Smoking Cessation Classes Offered by the Health Department

Register now for the Freedom From Smoking program taught by the St. Mary’s County Health Department. Designed by the American Lung Association, the class meets twice a week for six weeks from 6-7 p.m. beginning Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at the Health Department in Leonardtown.

This class is proven to help those ready to quit smoking. Make that New Year’s Resolution to stop smoking and call the health department at (301) 475-4297 to reserve your spot.  Free Chantix or Nicoderm CQ patches can be provided, depending on which one your physician prescribes.

The class will provide tips on how to quit, how to stay nicotine free and how to manage stress and avoid weight gain. The group support provided by fellow class mates is a strong component of the class.
