Early voting resumed Wednesday in Maryland after a two-day hiatus because of Hurricane Sandy. To accommodate the missed days voting hours have been extended and an extra day added. The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (three hours longer) from Wednesday Oct. 31 to Friday, Nov. 2 (a Thursday close had been intended before the storm).

Polling places in Southern Maryland are at the buildings that house the election offices in La Plata, Leonardtown and Prince Frederick. To can tell you are there by all of the campaign signs outside. All three polling places did a brisk business over the weekend prior to Sandyโ€™s arrival

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D: 5th) of Mechanicsville voted at the Leonardtown location early Wednesday and his opponent Anthony Oโ€™Donnell was expected to vote bin Prince Frederick later in the day.
