Leonardtownโ€™s Boys Varsity Lacrosse kept their excitement and enthusiasm up after claiming victory over the Patuxent Panthers, continuing their undefeated record, making it 7 wins 0 losses.

After a good amount of rain Thursday the 12th, the lacrosse game was still played and Ltown Raiders were still able to carry out another win despite the loss of two of their starting defensemen due to inadequate grades.ย  โ€œWe lost two because of eligibility, but weโ€™re a team and we pull it together,โ€ said senior and attackman Tim Boas.

What seemed like goal after goal, the Raiders worked Patuxentโ€™s defense the entire night, having the ball constantly by their net.ย  Scoring the first goal for Leonardtown was number 8, Matt โ€œThe Ochoโ€ Hause after only a few minutes of game play.

Starting with around four minutes of game play left in the first quarter, Ltown scored back to back goals against the Panthers with Kenny Aicher, number 11, scoring at 3:59, followed by 4 other goals.ย

The Raiders played intensely in the first quarter and continued their energy throughout the game.ย  Number 9, Stephen Norris, scoring 2 goals against Patuxent, was a key playmaker throughout the game, which at one point, literally jumped over a Patuxent defender to make the assist to Boas in the center for the goal.ย  โ€œI just got a little lucky and saw his face on the ground, so I just had to hop over him I guess,โ€ said Norris after the game.

The Panthers made a few solid attempts towards Leonardtownโ€™s goal, taking a few shots in the first half, but starting goalie and senior, Ian Hanson wouldnโ€™t let any balls hit the net, giving him a personal shut out for the game.ย  โ€œWe lost two starting defensemen and we were still able to shut down a team that is of decent caliber,โ€ Hanson told the Bay Net.ย

After putting in one of Ltownโ€™s back up goalies the Panthers were able to pull off one goal in the 4th quarter with 4 minutes left.ย  After taking a number of shots, Patuxentโ€™s Kevin Neitzey, number 6, scored the goal.ย

Even so, Leonardtown Raiders kept their perfect record with a 13 to 1 victory over Patuxent.ย

โ€œOur defense is looking a lot better and our offense is a lot better today too,โ€ said Hause after the game.ย  Hause and Boas both spoke for the team by saying they canโ€™t take any game lightly.ย  They are looking to be state champions and hope to go all the way.ย
