Civil Air Patrol cadet Second Lieutenant Daniel Myers was recognized for his performance as a cadet Non Commissioned Officer during a recent squadron meeting.
Cadet Myers was presented the Outstanding CAP Cadet NCO Award by the Air Force Sergeants Association . This award is presented yearly by the AFSA to the top cadet NCO in each CAP squadron.
This year’s award was presented on behalf of the Air Force Sergeants Association by Air Force Tech. Sgt. Nicole Culverhouse, of the 79th Medical Group, at Andrews Air Force Base.
Myers joined the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program in October 2004. He is from Mechanicsville and is a freshman at Chopticon High School. He has attended basic cadet encampment and is Ground Team level two qualified. As a ground team member, he has participated in actual Emergency Services missions, and many search and rescue training missions. He currently serves as the cadet Emergency Services and Information Technology officer.
