At the end of November 2007, a several -month investigation into the distribution of marijuana from a Leonardtown home was concluded by the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations Narcotics Division.
Jeb J. McWade, 26, was arrested after a Search and Seizure Warrant was executed on his residence. Seized during that time was a 1998 Chevrolet pick-up truck, nearly $13,000 in cash, firearms, approximately 2 pounds of marijuana and related distribution paraphernalia. Suspect McWade fled the area and was located in the state of Florida. State’s Attorney Richard D. Fritz authorized the extradition of Suspect McWade back to Maryland for trial. Suspect McWade is being held in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
James Leroy Hall AKA “Munchie,” 34 of Lexington Park, was sentenced to four four years in the Department of Corrections for Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.
The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations Narcotics Division is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Drug Enforcement Division and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007 and is based in St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
