Sheriff Timothy K. Cameron and the men and women of the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office would like to congratulate Sgt. Mark Clark for his more than 30 years of service to the citizens of St. Maryโ€™s County, Maryland.ย 

Mark Clark began his career in1981 as a county Animal Warden.ย  He was promoted to Animal Warden II in July of 1984.ย  In January of 1986 he was hired as a Correctional Officer with the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office.ย  He served as a Correctional Officer until July of 1988 when he was hired as a Deputy Sheriff by Sheriffโ€™s Office.ย  Mark was promoted Deputy First Class in February of 1992, Corporal in July of 2004 and Sergeant in January of 2009.ย 

Sgt. Clark served in several Sheriffโ€™s Office Divisions including:ย  Corrections, Patrol, Special Operations and Criminal Investigation.ย  He was a certified Traffic Safety Officer and Accident Reconstructionist.ย  Sgt. Clark also served as a Community Policing Officer in Leonardtown.ย 

Sgt. Clarkโ€™s dedication and hard work has merited the admiration and respect of countless co-workers, businesses and the community.ย  On June 1, 2012 Sgt. Mark Clark retired from the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

โ€œWhen an individual devotes 30 plus years of his or her life to public service itโ€™s not just a job, itโ€™s โ€œa callingโ€.ย  Markโ€™s tireless efforts and dedication to the public safety profession has contributed to the security and well-being of St. Maryโ€™s citizens.ย  We thank Sgt.
